Business opportunities that don’t exist in larger cities are available in Smooth Rock Falls; they are more affordable and there is less competition. And Smooth Rock Falls has set up financial incentives designed to give people who dream of opening a business but cannot afford to do so the opportunity to realize their dreams. Through Smooth Rock Falls’ Economic Development Incentive Program business owners can get a loan or grant up to a maximum of 15% of eligible costs up to a maximum of $1,000,000. Smooth Rock Falls also has a generous Tax Increment Grant Program for businesses, including: a 75 per cent rebate in year one, 50 per cent rebate in year two and 25 per cent rebate in year three for eligible non-residential properties.

Smooth Rock Falls is home to a skilled and experienced labour force over 560 persons strong. We have a versatile labour force with particular strengths in public administration, health and education, trades and transport and equipment operators. With over 57% of residents having post-secondary education, abundant amenities, and affordable housing the opportunities for growth and investment are amassing in Smooth Rock Falls.
