Collection Schedule
The Town of Smooth Rock Falls offer its’ residents weekly, curbside garbage collection.
Below is the current collection schedule.
- Tuesday is RECYCLING collection day
- Wednesday is WASTE collection day
- Businesses are to follow the new schedule and will continue to have the additional Friday pick up for waste
- Changes may occur during the holidays. Please reference current collection schedule.
Effective January 1st, 2025, the Town of Smooth Rock Falls’ recycling program will be managed by Circular Materials, who is the administrator of the common collection system and a not-for-profit organization that is committed to building an efficient and effective recycling system in Ontario.
What does this mean?
- Waste will be picked up by the Town of Smooth Rock Falls.
- Recycling will be picked up by GFL Environmental, contractor hired by Circular Materials.
- The waste and recycling schedule will identify the designated pick up dates. Ex: Recycling will take place on Tuesdays for all residents, waste pick up will occur on Wednesdays for all residents and businesses. As always, businesses will have and additional waste picked up on Friday.
Recycling Bins: Residents will contact GFL Environmental with regard to recycling, including any issues related to Blue Bins.
As part of this transition, residents can expect to have a convenient, consistent, and effective recycling system that will improve recycling rates – benefiting people and our planet.

Landfill operation hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Landfill annual permit is $30.00 for residents and $100.00 for non-residential and is valid from January to December. An annual permit is necessary to enter the landfill site.
