A few years ago, Smooth Rock Falls undertook the development of a comprehensive strategy that resulted in a 20-Year Vision and Plan. Since then, Council and Town staff have been very busy bringing that vision to life. Part of those efforts include a focus on sharing great information to help visitors, residents and businesses understand all that our little town in northern Ontario has to offer – details of which you will find on our website. In 2020, our town received funding through NOHFC to develop our Near North Industrial Centre. It is a brand-new industrial park with multiple lots on 27 acres that make up the former Tembec Mill site. This welcome addition will bring new industry and new businesses to town. Stay tuned for more updates as projects progress!

Smooth Rock Falls recently made significant investments to improve the play structures at Liz McCafferty Park and have built a new splash pad to keep the kids entertained and cool in the hot summer weather. We have also recently invested over one million dollars in improvements to our beloved arena. And this year, our dedicated municipal staff will be working hard to improve our roads and infrastructure.

What else will you find in Smooth Rock Falls? How about exceptional housing prices – great for families starting out or recent retirees. You’ll find incredible leisure activities such as fishing and hunting, as well as snowmobiling on award-winning trails. We are an easy driving distance to bigger centres such as Kapuskasing, Cochrane and Timmins, and passenger air service to and from Toronto is close by in Timmins. We also have outstanding municipal staff who are eager to work with you to set up, diversify or expand your business.
