Smooth Rock Falls is now home master glass blower Angelo Rossi. He has relocated from the Niagara Falls area where his work could have been seen at his shop in the Skyline Hotel. Rossi says he’s even made pieces for celebrities from actress Jane Fonda to singer Elton John. He adds that he never knew that Elton John was interested in his work until one of his assistants came by in late 1980s to check out his work.
“She bought some pieces and I eventually helped her to bring it in her hotel because there were quite a few,” he said. “And then we went out for dinner, and she tells me that she works for Elton John. She said the reason why I come out to you is because Elton buys glass from the best in the world.”
Rossi says every glass blower is unique because a secret recipe.
