The Smoky Falls dam structures are over 100 years old and require significant life extension work to ensure safe and reliable operation in compliance with the current dam safety requirements. The Smoky Falls Dam Safety (SFDS) project will replace two sluice gates, and permanently close and stabilize other water retaining structures.
