Attention residents
🔴 Have you noticed the lights at the Town’s Welcome Sign have turned RED? 🔴
This change is in recognition of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the global fight against TB.
On March 24th, we observe World TB Day to commemorate the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced the discovery of the bacteria that causes tuberculosis. This day is an occasion to mobilize community and global efforts for further progress towards eliminating Tuberculosis (TB).
The theme for this year’s World TB Day is “Yes! We can end TB!”. This theme highlights our collective power to end TB by 2030 and reach the Sustainable Development Goals.
The global fight against TB faces a critical year ahead. In 2025, the Stop TB Partnership is sounding the alarm on one of the world’s leading infectious killers. TB kills around 4,000 people every day, including 700 children. That means one person dies from TB every 20 seconds.
Together, we can make a difference and work towards a TB-free world!
Join us in acknowledging this important cause and spreading awareness about TB prevention and treatment.
