TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town OF Smooth Rock Falls passed By-law No. 2023-21 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990 to amend the Zoning By-law No. 2016-04 for the Town of Smooth Rock Falls.
PURPOSE AND EFFECT
The purpose of the proposed Zoning By-law amendment is to regulate the location of Short-Term Rentals (STRs).
TAKE NOTICE THAT an individual, corporation or public body may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal, by filing a notice of appeal with the Clerk of the Town of Smooth Rock Falls, no later than the 13th day of September 2023. The notice of appeal must set out the reasons for the appeal and must be accompanied by a cheque or money order for $1,100 made payable to the Minister of Finance.
TAKE NOTICE THAT only individuals, corporations, and public bodies may appeal a by-law and/or Official Plan Amendment to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
AND TAKE NOTICE THAT no person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless before the by-law was passed and/or the Official Plan was adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
A copy of the By-law and Official Plan Amendment is available for inspection at the Municipal Office during regular office hours.
